Also running from Father’s Day Weekend to Labor Day, is our Friday Poolside Dining Program. No need to bring a change of clothes, families can enjoy a buffet of Chicken Kabobs, Rice Pilaf, Caesar Salad, Grilled Vegetables, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and much, much more while lounging poolside! Special themes take place each week, including several movie nights. Kids can gather on the deck around the projector and screen to enjoy our feature presentation of the evening.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Easily our most attended event of the year, is our Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet. We see up to 400 members and guests as they celebrate the special Moms in their lives.

Spring Brunch

Held on Easter Sunday, this is a great start to the Spring season. Our chef prepares all of our members' brunch favorites, from Belgium Waffles and Made-to-Order Omelets, to Smoked Salmon and Pasta Primavera.

Winter Festival

This new winter event is a great way to beat the winter blues. Kids enjoy Ice Skating, Sledding, and snowman building contests outside, along with S’more making and Hot Cocoa by the fire pit. When it’s time to warm up, we invite everyone inside the Main Clubhouse for a buffet of comfort food like Beef Stew, Clam Chowder, and Baked Mac and Cheese.

Holiday Events

The fun continues through the holidays as we host Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah themed events for all.

Junior and Family Golf Events and Programs

Little Links

This is a great way to get our smallest members interested in the game of golf. The Little Links course allows you to take your child and/or grandchild with you for 9 holes to get them excited about the game and allowing you to spend valuable time together. The Kernwood Nine, (holes 1-8 and 18) has a set of little links tees set in the fairway, giving the young player a customized experience, and even their very own scorecard.

Junior Golf (ages 10+)

For older juniors, clinics are held on Tuesday evenings beginning at 5:30 p.m. 30 to 40 minutes of instruction is followed by 9 holes of golf. Juniors are paired up and different formats are introduced throughout the year. One instructor will move between the groups to explain etiquette, courtesy, and help juniors understand the importance of course management.

FUNdamentals of Golf

Perfect for Juniors looking to improve on core fundamentals. The program is split by age, 6-8 year olds make up the youngest group, followed by 9-12 year olds, and 13 and up. Each week new topics are covered, and contests are held every week to encourage friendly competition.

Junior Golf 9 Hole League

For Juniors ages 10 and up, 9-hole junior league is held on Thursday mornings starting at 7:30 a.m. on the back nine. Participants play in mini-events and collect scorecards to track their progress. One instructor moves between groups to explain etiquette, rules, and help with course management.

Junior Interclub League

Interclub is a great opportunity for Juniors ages 12 and up to get introduced to competitive golf, while also getting a chance to play some of the area’s finest golf courses. The clubs that have been a part of the league at Kernwood include Turner Hill Golf Club, Ipswich Country Club, Winchester Country Club, Salem Country Club, Bass Rocks Golf Club, Myopia Hunt Club, Ferncroft Country Club and Tedesco Country Club. Each team consists of 5 Junior golfers from each Club. 18 Holes are played at all sites, and USGA rules govern all play.

PGA Junior League

PGA Junior League Golf is designed to bring a “Little League” atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls age 13 and under, PGA JLG provides a structured league environment for young golfers to compete and have fun! This is a great way to get, and keep, kids involved in the game. The program structure includes a fun and recreational 2-player scramble format for players of all skill levels, full participation opportunities for all, and all players receive a team jersey, golf balls, bag tag, and flag stickers.
