Whether you're teaching a new generation the traditions of golf, or enjoying time together at one of our holiday events, you're sure to be creating memories and connections that will live on for years to come.

Junior and Family Golf Events and Programs

Little Links

This is a great way to get our smallest members interested in the game of golf. The Little Links course allows you to take your child and/or grandchild with you for 9 holes to get them excited about the game and allowing you to spend valuable time together. The Kernwood Nine, (holes 1-8 and 18) has a set of little links tees set in the fairway, giving the young player a customized experience, and even their very own scorecard.

Junior Golf (ages 10+)

For older juniors, clinics are held on Tuesday evenings beginning at 5:30 p.m. 30 to 40 minutes of instruction is followed by 9 holes of golf. Juniors are paired up and different formats are introduced throughout the year. One instructor will move between the groups to explain etiquette, courtesy, and help juniors understand the importance of course management.

FUNdamentals of Golf

Perfect for Juniors looking to improve on core fundamentals. The program is split by age, 6-8 year olds make up the youngest group, followed by 9-12 year olds, and 13 and up. Each week new topics are covered, and contests are held every week to encourage friendly competition.

Junior Golf 9 Hole League

For Juniors ages 10 and up, 9-hole junior league is held on Thursday mornings starting at 7:30 a.m. on the back nine. Participants play in mini-events and collect scorecards to track their progress. One instructor moves between groups to explain etiquette, rules, and help with course management.

Junior Interclub League

Interclub is a great opportunity for Juniors ages 12 and up to get introduced to competitive golf, while also getting a chance to play some of the area’s finest golf courses. The clubs that have been a part of the league at Kernwood include Turner Hill Golf Club, Ipswich Country Club, Winchester Country Club, Salem Country Club, Bass Rocks Golf Club, Myopia Hunt Club, Ferncroft Country Club and Tedesco Country Club. Each team consists of 5 Junior golfers from each Club. 18 Holes are played at all sites, and USGA rules govern all play.
