Welcome To Kernwood Country Club

The winding entrance road through the original stone archway welcomes you to Kernwood Country Club – a private member-owned country club located on Boston’s North Shore in historic Salem, Massachusetts.

Established in 1914 by a group of Boston business leaders, Kernwood Country Club is rich in history with the likes of Walter Hagen, Francis Ouimet, and Donald Ross himself present for grand opening exhibition matches. Today, Kernwood remains one of the most beautiful and endeared clubs in the Northeast, catering to a community of social, golf, young professional, and corporate members.

Kernwood Mission Statement

Kernwood Country Club is a premier golf and social club enriched with century old traditions of excellence, and responsive to the needs and values of its members. Kernwood exists for the enjoyment, entertainment, and pleasure of all members, their families, and guests in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

Family

Family

There are many ways one could describe a family, but they all have one common theme: caring. Kernwood offers a place where your family can grow together. From our Junior Programs to our Movie Nights by the pool, to the Fine Dining and Wine Pairing events in the Main Dining Room, there is something here to suit each individual, as we invite your family to become part of ours.

Tradition

Tradition

Our reputation for superb golf and outstanding culinary creations began over one hundred years ago as Kernwood Country Club was first established in 1914. We respect the game of golf by remaining true to the original Donald Ross design, with his clear signature ringing true across all 6,402 yards of course, and beyond.

Community

Community

Community responsibility is at the founding core of Kernwood Country Club’s values. Our Caddie Scholarship program was one of the first in the nation, and today, Kernwood members raise over $100,000 each year for charities within the local community, and nationwide.
